Message from Permanent Representative Ambassador Cenk Uraz:

I have officially assumed my duties as the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) by presenting my credentials to the OIC Secretary General, H.E. Hussein Brahim Taha, on 17 March 2024.

Turkish Permanent Mission to the OIC, established in 2015 prior to the commencement of Türkiye's 13^th Islamic Summit (2016-2019) Presidency, carries out its assignment with an individual and independent diplomatic status.

Being a founding member of the OIC, Türkiye hosts one of the four OIC Standing Committees, i.e. Economic and Commercial Cooperation Standing Committee (COMCEC) under the Chairmanship of H.E. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as two subsidiary organs of the OIC: Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA) and Statistical, Economic and Social Research Training Center for Islamic Countries (SESRIC); along with other affiliated organs Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), OIC Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum (OIC-IBRAF) and OIC Arbitration Center.

Türkiye will also host the OIC Police Cooperation and Coordination Center as well as the OIC Media Forum (OMF) which will be operational soon.

In line with our foreign policy goals and priorities determined by H.E. President Erdoğan, our Permanent Representation will maintain its support to the Organization in a wide spectrum of issues, primarily the Palestinian cause which is raison d'être and main agenda of the OIC, includingcombating Islamophobia and religious intolerance,protecting the rights of Muslim minorities and communities around the world and providing humanitarian aid to Muslims in need.

Moreover, Türkiye remains committed to support the Organization in a constructive and efficient manner in areas such as trade, economy, culture, science and technology, human rights, education, women, youth, information as well as media and communication.

In light of my humble experience as a former member of the OIC General Secretariat and in my earlier capacity as the Deputy Director General in charge of OIC affairs at the Turkish Foreign Ministry, we will spare every effort togetherwith my colleaguesto contributeto the work of the Organization in close consultation and cooperation with the representatives of the OIC Member States, particularly with our host country-Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, andmembers of the General Secretariat.
