Ambassador Cenk Uraz, began his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye in 1996, following his graduation from Bilkent University International Relations department in the same year.

Throughout his diplomatic career, Ambassador Uraz served at various positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, i.e. Deputy Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Aviation, Deputy Directorate General for NATO and Euro-Atlantic Security, Deputy Directorate General for West Africa and Deputy Directorate General for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation as well as Permanent Representation of the Republic of Türkiye to NATO and Turkish Embassies in Tehran, Stockholm, Moscow (Deputy Chief of Mission). He was also seconded to the OIC General Secretariat as the Political Advisor to the OIC Secretary General between 2009-2013.

Ambassador Uraz recently served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Republic of Djibouti between 15 January 2023-15 March 2024.

Ambassador Uraz has been appointed as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation with Ambassadorial title by Presidential Decree No: 2024/34, dated 15 February 2024.

Ambassador Cenk Uraz speaks English. He is married to Mrs. Aslı Uraz and father of two daughters.
